AMA (WA) members recognised in King’s Birthday Honours List

Several Australian Medical Association (WA) members have been recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours List for 2026.

Professor Timothy Davis was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for distinguished service to medicine as a consultant physician; to clinical research into diabetes and infectious diseases; and to tertiary education.

Dr David Joske was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to haematology; and to pioneering the use of integrative oncology.

Dr Sean Stevens was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to general practice medicine.

AMA President Dr Danielle McMullen congratulated the members on the significant recognition of their contribution to the health of communities across Australia.

“All of the doctors have shown great dedication to using their skills and experience to benefit patients, colleagues, and society as a whole.” Dr McMullen said.

“We are pleased to see our members’ commitment to serving their communities recognised. And while that isn’t why they do it, it is gratifying to know the value doctors deliver every day is acknowledged in such a positive fashion.”

AMA (WA) President Dr Kyle Hoath was proud of the achievements of WA members.

“Our doctors provide incredible care to the community every day of the week, but it’s a real delight when members who have made particularly significant contributions to medicine are honoured in this way. The AMA (WA) wholeheartedly congratulates these members and hopes they are fully enjoying the satisfaction of this acknowledgement,” he said.
